Hi there!
I am so looking forward to creating something timeless with you. I view our engagement session as the "prologue" to your wedding story. These won’t just be pretty pictures; they are a documentation of your connection, your laughter, and the way you look at each other when no one else is watching. My goal is for you to look back in twenty years and not just see what you looked like, but remember how you felt.
While we’ll certainly get that perfect shot for your Save the Dates or a stunning new profile piece, I’m most excited about capturing the quiet, unposed magic that makes your relationship yours.
THE LOGISTICS: OUR COASTAL BACKDROP
We will be meeting at Burkes Beach (60 Burkes Beach Rd, Hilton Head).
Once you hit the sand, head toward the beach and look to your right—that’s where I’ll be waiting!
The Trek: Please keep in mind that it is a solid 10-minute walk from the parking area to the water’s edge. I know it’s a bit of a hike, but I promise it is the absolute best stretch of coastline for light and privacy. It is well worth the steps!
ELEVATING THE AESTHETIC: WHAT TO WEAR
Your wardrobe sets the entire tone for the gallery. To achieve that airy, high-end wedding aesthetic, I recommend a "Coordinated, Not Matching" approach.
Start with a Vibe: Whether it’s coastal chic, editorial boho, or classic preppy, choose a style that feels like an elevated version of yourselves.
Color Palette: Light neutrals, pastels, and earth tones photograph beautifully against the sand and surf.
Texture is Key: Flowy maxi dresses for her (movement looks incredible in the wind!) and high-quality fabrics like linen or light knits for him add depth to the images.
The Details: Avoid loud logos or tiny, tight patterns that can "moiré" (distort) on camera. Barefoot is best for the beach, but if you choose shoes, make sure they are easy to slip off!
Professional Polish: Send me a photo of your outfits laid out at least a week in advance! I love acting as a stylist to help you tweak the final look.
EXPERT TIPS FOR THE BEST RESULTS
Embrace the Breeze: It’s the beach, which means wind. Instead of fighting it, let’s use it for movement! However, to keep hair out of your eyes during those intimate close-ups, I recommend a partially pulled-back style or having a cute clip/tie on hand just in case.
The "Pre-Game" Ritual: A relaxed session starts before you arrive. Grab a cocktail or a favorite snack beforehand so you arrive feeling nourished and "date night" ready.
Trust the Process: Some moments might feel "messy" or chaotic, but often those are the frames where the most authentic joy lives. Just keep interacting with each other—I’ll handle the rest.
PREPARING FOR THE UNEXPECTED
Bring a "Touch-Up" Kit: Blotting papers, lipstick for reapplication, and a brush.
The "Just In Case": Bring a towel and a change of clothes for the car. If the mood strikes and we end up in the tide for those dreamy water shots, you’ll be glad you have them!
THE REVEAL
After our session, I spend significant time hand-curating and editing your gallery to ensure every skin tone and sunset hue is perfect. You can expect your full high-resolution gallery delivered to your inbox within 3 weeks.
Thank you for trusting me with this chapter of your journey. I am truly honored to be the one behind the lens for you.
Warmly,
Stephanie
